restaurants in trying to dodge obama care. the schemes are kind of unpopular in america. this week the company to lower its earning estimate for next year in part because of the bad press they got for health reform shenanigans. people aren't going for dinner special. 2 for $25 olive garden dinners are not a good enough deal in post-recession america. today was the end of the line in health reform dodging. their test in using fewer employees, providing them with health insurance, it was a fail. according to the ap's reporting it received a flood of feedback from customers. both employee and customers. turns out everyone is happier when you have healthy full time workers who are not sneezing on your food. the story of the restaurants is a funny story. there is a reason that employers give them health insurance. it is because they need them to be happy and to be healthy and they need people to want to work there. one of the big policy arguments is that once it is fully implemented they will drop the coverage and pay the fine. but do you know what they pay now? nothing. no fine, no penalty

obama and house speaker boehner are talking again. it follows a nearly week-long silence. wednesday, the presdient and congressman boenher spoke by phone. on thursday, the president said he was optimistic a deal would get done as he sat down with a middle-class family in virginia to promote his tax plan new jersey governor chris christie is making a pitch to washington for more funds to cover the cost of hurricane sandy. christie is seeking $83 billion in extra disaster aid from the government. he's making the plea on behalf of his home state of new jersey, as well as for new york and connecticut. christie met with president obama at the white house first, then with house speaker john boehner at the capital. at a senate hearing thursday, senator charles schumer of new york presented his case for rebuilding the storm zone. "new york has no choice, we have to adapt. new york and new jersey are a waterfront region in the path of violent new weather realities." president obama meanwhile is seeking $50 billion from congress for emergency aid for 11 states with storm damage. the improving

floor and offered president obama's proposal on the fiscal cliff to show that neither he nor democrats in congress are acting in good faith in these negotiations. with just a few weeks ago before a potentially entirely avoidable blow to the economy, the president proposed a plan the members of his own party will even vote for. he is not interested in a balanced agreement, not particularly interested in avoiding the fiscal cliff, and clearly not interested at all in cutting any spending. with the president is really in, as we learned just yesterday, is getting as much taxpayer money as he can, first by raising taxes on small businesses who he believes are making too much money, and then on everybody else. not so he can lower the debt or the deficit, but so he can spend to his heart's content. for months, the president has been saying that all he wanted to raise taxes on the top 2% so he can tackle the debt and the deficit. however, yesterday, he finally revealed that that is not really is true intent. by demanding the power to raise the debt limit whenever he wants, by as much
